1.	Dominance refers to the characteristic of an allele that masks or suppresses the expression of its paired contrasting allele in the F1 generation.	Recessiveness refers to the characteristic of an allele whose expression is masked or suppressed by the dominant allele in the F1 generation.
2.	The dominant allele is the one that appears or is visible in the phenotype of the heterozygous organism.	The recessive allele does not appear in the phenotype when paired with a dominant allele and is only visible when present in homozygous condition.
3.	In Mendel’s monohybrid experiments, the trait that appears in the F1 generation is called dominant.	The contrasting trait that does not appear in the F1 generation but appears in the F2 generation when homozygous is called recessive.
4.	The dominant character is expressed even when only one copy of its allele is present (heterozygous condition).	The recessive character requires two copies of its allele (homozygous recessive) for its expression.
