उत्तर

A legend is a vital chart element that acts as an explanatory key or index to help readers interpret the visual data accurately. It is a small box or layout element, typically positioned at the right, bottom, or top of the chart, that assigns a specific text label to each individual data series or category plotted in the graph. The legend displays a unique colour, pattern, or symbol next to the corresponding data series name so users can instantly distinguish between multiple sets of information at a glance. For example, if a column chart compares the sales of two different products, the legend will display a blue square next to “Product A” and an orange square next to “Product B.” Without a legend, a multi-layered chart with various lines or colored bars would become impossible to read, as there would be no way to know which specific business metrics each colour represents.
