1. All places with a Municipality, Corporation, Cantonment Board or Notified Town, Committee, etc., are included as Urban areas.
2. All other places which satisfy the following criteria: A minimum population of 5000. At least 75% of the male working population engaged in non-agricultural pursuits. A density of population of at least 400 persons per square km.
