Copper wire is wound around a steel bar FT. Current is allowed to pass through the coil for some time and then the bar is removed.

1. Draw only the magnetised bar FT and mark its poles.
2. Trace two magnetic lines of force around FT clearly indicating the direction.

a. Since, looking from the F side, the current is flowing in an anti-clockwise direction, and hence, the north pole is developed at that end and the south pole at the T end.
