- The Varkaris mainly go on the Pandharpur Varkari in the month of Ashadha (June–July). They reach Pandharpur on Ashadhi Ekadashi to take darshan of Lord Vitthal.
- The Vari is carefully planned through Palkhis and Dindis. The Palkhis of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram start from Alandi and Dehu respectively. The Varkaris walk together along fixed routes, with planned daily journeys and night halts, and reach Pandharpur before Ashadhi Ekadashi.
