Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first-ever diesel-to-electric converted locomotive at the Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The 10,000HP freight locomotive was converted from two units of old diesel locomotives of 2600 HP each with indigenous technology. This is the first-ever conversion of a locomotive from diesel to electric traction.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its fifth bi-monthly monetary policy statement for 2019-20 in which the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), led by [1], decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 5.15%.
