While water-intensive crops like sugarcane were banned to maintain ecological balance, the production of pulses, oilseeds, and cash crops flourished, significantly multiplying family incomes.
3. Generation of Local Employment: The agricultural boom eliminated the need for villagers to migrate to cities in search of seasonal labour.
