A chromatin network is a loose, tangled mass of dark-staining, thread-like fibers visible inside the nucleus of a cell during its non-dividing stage (Interphase). It is composed of DNA strands wound around core proteins, which condense into distinct, thick rods called chromosomes when the cell begins to divide.
