In the case of telescopes,
M = `"f"_"o"/"f"_"e"`
Where fo = focal length of the objective
fe =focal length of the eye-piece
The length of the telescope for normal adjustment is, L = fo + fe .
Thus, the magnifying power of the telescope can be increased only within the limitations of the length of the telescope.
