- Sao Francisco – The river is navigable for a distance ofabout 250 km in its downstream reaches.
- The whole of the Amazon river course is suitable for navigation
- Paraguay and Parana in south are also navigable Waterways have been developed on a commercial basis in the Amazon River. Boats ply from Equitos in Peru to the mouth of the river. The longest waterways in the world can be navigated through these waterways (around 3700 kms).
