Points: - Akashwani has preserved recordings of all speeches delivered each year by the Prime Minister of India on 15th August.
- Akashwani invites historians as experts for discussions on various
ocassions such as the birth or death anniversaries of national leaders,
anniversaries of historical events.
- lectures on the countribution of various national leaders need to be
supported by historical information.
- ‘On this day in History’ are also integral part of the daily programmes
of Akashwani.
- Thus, History is essential in planning radio programmes.
