`100 xx ((100 xx "x")/100) xx ((100 + 4"x")/100)`

= 100 × 2.5

⇒ (100 + x)(100 + 4x) 

= 250 × 100

⇒ (100 + x)(100 + 4x)

= 125 × 200

At x = 25, equation satisfied.

Therefore, first increment is 25%
