A retailer opens her outlet on all seven days of the week. It is observed that her average sales for Saturdays and Sundays combined is ₹300, and ₹200 for the remaining five days combined. For a month starting on a Saturday, it was found that the total sales were ₹ 7,000. Which among the following months it could be?

Explanation:

The average sales for Saturdays and Sundays = ₹ 300

∴ Total sales for one Saturday and one Sunday = 300 × 2

= 600

The average sales for the rest of five days = ₹ 200

∴ Total sales for the rest of five days in 1 week = ₹ 200 × 5

= ₹ 1000

Now, the Total number of days in a week = 7

And Total sales in a week = 1600

∴ Total sales in 4 weeks = 1600 × 4

= ₹ 6400

If a month starts on Saturday, then on 28th of that month will be Friday.

Two days left in the month, i.e, Saturday and Sunday.

So, sales for Saturday and Sunday = 600

∴ Total sales of month having 30day = 6400 + 600 = ₹ 7000

∴ April has 30 days.
