A heap of wheat is in the form of a cone of diameter 9 m and height 3.5 m. Find its volume. How much canvas cloth is required to just cover the heap? (Use 𝜋 = 3.14).

Radius` =9/2m=4.5 m` 

Height (h)=3.5m  

Volume of heap = `1/3pir^2h` 

=`1/3[3.14xx(4.5)^2xx3.5]` 

=`74.18m^3` 

Slant height l`= sqrt(r^2 + h^2)`

= `sqrt((4.5)^2+(3.5)^2)` 

= 5.700877 m. 

Area of canvas required CSA of cone 

CSA = `pirl` 

= `3.14 xx 4.5 xx 5.7m^2` 

= 80.541m²
