Let the required price be ₹ x.
As the number of bananas increases price also increases
∴ Number of bananas and cost are in direct proportion.

| Cost in rupees | 20 | x |
`(x_1)/(y_1) = (x_2)/(y_2)`
`12/20 = 48/x`
x = `(48 xx 20)/12`
x = 80
∴ Price of 48 bananas = ₹ 80.
