  • The salient feature of the ancient education system of India made it globally renowned were, from the time of Rigveda on, our ancient system of education developed during the period and concentrated on the holistic growth of the person by taking care of both the inner self as well as the outer selves. The system focused on the moral, physical, spiritual and intellectual aspects of life.
  • The students were taught to value the harmony between the human being and nature. Education stressed values like modesty, truthfulness, discipline, self-confidence, respecting all creations. Teaching and learning was based on the Vedas and Upanishads ' values and performing their duties to themselves, family and society.
  • Education and physical health were the main goal of the education system. The emphasis was on a balanced mind and healthy body, in other words. You will see that education is pragmatic, attainable and conducive to life in India.
