The order of a reaction whose rate constant has the same unit as the rate of reaction is zero order. This is because the units of the rate of reaction are always concentration per time (e.g., mol L−1 s−1).

For a zero-order reaction, the rate law is Rate = k[A]0 = k

Hence, the units of k are exactly the same as those of the rate of reaction, i.e., mol L−1 s−1.
