Then, LHS = x + y
= `(-2)/3 + (-5)/6`
= `(-2)/3 - 5/6`
= `(-4 - 5)/6`
= `(-9)/6`
And RHS = y + x
= `(-5)/6 + (-2)/3`
= `(-5)/6 - 2/3`
= `(-5 - 4)/6`
= `(-9)/6`
∴ LHS = RHS
Hence, x + y = y + x
