For a firstтАСorder reaction,

[A] = [A]0тАЛe−kt

Half-life is `t_(1//2) = (ln 2)/k`

If n halfтАСlives have passed, t = n t1/2тАЛ. 

Substitute

`[A] = [A]_0тАЛe^(−k(nt_(1//2)тАЛ))`

= `[A]_0 e^(-kn(ln 2)//k)`

= `[A]_0e^(-n ln 2)`

= `[A]_0 (e^(ln 2))^-( n)`

= [A]02−n

= `[A]_0 (1/2)^n`

Hence proved.
