6 liters of hydrogen and 4 liters of chlorine are mixed which results in the formation of 8 liters of HCl gas. When water is added, it results in the formation of hydrochloric acid. So, the amount of gas left is only 2 liters of hydrogen as chlorine acts as a limiting reagent.

Therefore, the volume of the residual gas will be 2 liters
