  1. Neon has a very high ionisation enthalpy, much higher than xenon.
  2. Fluorine cannot oxidise neon to form compounds but can oxidise xenon.
  3. Neon’s small size and stable electronic configuration make it very unreactive.
  4. Xenon has lower ionisation enthalpy and a larger size, allowing it to form compounds like XeF2, XeF6.
  5. Hence, neon does not form compounds analogous to xenon because of its high ionisation energy and strong inertness.
