Sufism proved very helpful in bringing the gap between the followers of Hinduism and Islam and encouraged the feeling of Hindu-Muslim unity to a considerable extent in the following ways:
- Sufism preached religious tolerance, brotherhood, and oneness of God. Inspite of the different rules of various religions, the ultimate aim is to reach God.
- Equality and brotherhood of all human beings irrespective of caste, colour, creed, and religion.
- Sufism believed in the unity of all religions because every religion points out the ultimate aim to reach the God and get his blessings.
