उत्तर

  1. In the colloidal state, particles are very small and have a large surface area exposed for adsorption.
  2. In suspension, the particles are relatively larger and settle down over time, reducing their effective surface area.
  3. Colloidal particles remain uniformly dispersed in the medium, allowing better contact with the adsorbate.
  4. Due to higher surface activity, colloidal particles can hold more adsorbate molecules on their surface.

Hence, a colloidal substance acts as a much better adsorbent than the same substance in suspension form.
