उत्तर

According to their electrical conductivity, solids are divided into three groups:

  1. Conductors: Conductors are defined as substances that allow the flow of electric current easily. It solidifies with electrical conductivities between 104 and 107 ohm−1 m−1. For example, ionic solids (electrolytes) and metals.
  2. Insulators: Insulators are defined as substances that do not conduct electricity under normal conditions. It solidifies with low electrical conductivities, between 10−20 and 10−10 ohm−1 m−1. For example, molecular solids and nonmetals.
  3. Semiconductors: Semiconductors are defined as substances whose electrical conductivity is between conductors and insulators It solidifies with electrical conductivities between 10−6 and 104 ohm−1 m−1. such as metalloids such as Si, Ge, etc.
