where, λ is the wavelength,
R → Rydberg’s constant = 1.097 × 107 m−1
For the shortest wavelength of Paschen series,
n = 3, m = ∞
∴ `1/λ_s = 1.097 xx 10^7(1/3^2 - 1/∞^2)`
∴ `1/λ_s = 1.097 xx 10^7(1/9 -0)`
∴ `1/λ_s = 0.12188 xx 10^7`
∴ `λ_s = 1/(0.12188 xx 10^7)`
∴ λs = 8.204 × 10−7
∴ λs = 8204 Å
