उत्तर

Distance between the person and the mirror = 3.5 m
Distance between the person and tree (object) = 0.5 m
The image formed in the mirror = 4 m
The distance between the image of the tree and his eyes = 4 + 3.5 = 7.5

Rays of light incident parallel to the principal axis pass through the focus after reflection from a concave mirror.
Draw a ray diagram to show that the depth of a vessel containing water when seen from above, appears to be less than its real depth.
Define the following terms :
Incident ray, Refracted ray, Angle of incidence, Angle of refraction.
The diagram in figure shows a ray of light AO falling on a rectangular glass slab PQRS. Complete the diagram till the ray of light emerges out of the slab. Label on the diagram the incident ray, the refracted ray and the emergent ray.

State the changes in the position, size and nature of the image when the object is brought from infinity up to a concave lens. Illustrate your answer by drawing ray diagrams.
Distinguish between real and virtual image.
Say TRUE or FALSE
The image formed in a pinhole camera is always inverted
Say TRUE or FALSE
The image formed in a pinhole camera is always the same size as the object
Figure shows a pencil placed above a mirror

- Draw its image formed by the mirror
- Show how light rays from the object are reflected at the mirror to form the image for the eye.
Assertion (A): Virtual objects can’t be seen by the human eye.
Reason (R): Virtual image is formed by converging rays.
