To overcome the dearth of Pharmacists Late Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Medical and Rural Development Foundation started the college of Pharmacy. Diploma in Pharmacy is the minimum qualification for registration as a pharmacist under the pharmacy Act 1948 and according the section 42 of this Act the profession of pharmacy is reserved for the registered pharmacists only. Under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act a qualified person is one who holds a Diploma in pharmacy and I or a registered pharmacist.
