Why do gases have neither a fixed shape nor a fixed volume?

Solution
Gases do not have fixed shape and volume because they have very small inter-molecular force of attraction and large inter-molecular space. Since, the particles of a gas are free to move anywhere, it takes the shape and volume of the container.
