Disasters that lead to total chaos and huge loss of life and property in respective region are known as catastrophic disaster.
e.g. Cyclones in Odisha, catastrophic earthquakes of Gujarat and Latur, frequently buzzing cyclones in coastal Andhra Pradesh, etc.
