Solution

The following are the requisites of medium to travel:
(i) The medium should possess elasticity so that particles of the medium have the tendency to come back to their original position after the displacement.
(ii) The medium should be frictionless so that there should be a loss of energy.
(iii) The medium must possess inertia so that particles of the medium have the ability to store energy.
