Question

What are covalent compounds?

Solution 1

Covalent compounds are the compounds that are formed by the mutual sharing of valence electrons by the constituent atoms. For example, a molecule of methane (CH4) is formed when the carbon atom shares one of its four valence electrons with one electron of each of the four H atoms.

Solution 2

Covalent compounds are those where atoms share their electrons with other atoms to form more stable structure.
