The main components of blood are

1) Red blood cells (RBCs): Red blood cells are the most abundant cells in the blood. These cells contain a red pigment called haemoglobin. It is the haemoglobin which carries oxygen and transports it to all parts of the body

2) White blood cells (WBCs): WBCs are colourless cells without haemoglobin. They fight against infections and protect the body from foreign particles such as germs and bacteria

3) Platelets: Platelets are the smallest cells in the blood. The main function of platelet is to prevent bleeding.

Solution 2

There are four components of blood:

1) Plasma is a liquid part of blood which is yellowish in colour and contain 90% water. It contains food, enzymes, wastes and proteins etc

2) Red blood cells are disc shaped cells containing red coloured pigment called haemoglobin in it. Haemoglobin helps in transportation of oxygen

3) White blood cells are the fighting cells which protect us against bacteria and foreign materials causing infections

4) Platelets help in clotting of the blood
