Find the volume of a sphere whose surface area is 154 cm2.

`["Assume "pi=22/7]`

 

Solution

Let radius of sphere be r.

Surface area of sphere = 154 cm2

⇒ 4πr2 = 154 cm2

`rArr r^2=((154xx7)/(4xx22))cm^2`

`rArr r^2=(7/2)cm = 3.5cm`

`"Volume of sphere " = 4/3pir^3`

`=[4/3xx22/7x(3.5)^3]cm^3`

`=179 2/3cm^3`

Therefore, the volume of the sphere is `179 2/3cm^3`
