Find the volume of a sphere whose surface area is 154 cm2.

["Assume "pi=22/7]

#### Solution

Let radius of sphere be r.

Surface area of sphere = 154 cm2

⇒ 4πr2 = 154 cm2

rArr r^2=((154xx7)/(4xx22))cm^2

rArr r^2=(7/2)cm = 3.5cm

"Volume of sphere " = 4/3pir^3

=[4/3xx22/7x(3.5)^3]cm^3

=179 2/3cm^3

Therefore, the volume of the sphere is 179 2/3cm^3
