Solution 1

1 cm  = `1/100m`

Volume of the cube = 1 cm3

But, 1 cm3 = 1 cm × 1 cm × 1 cm  = `(1/100)mxx(1/100)mxx(1/100)m`

∴1 cm3 = 10–6 m3

Hence, the volume of a cube of side 1 cm is equal to 10–6 m3.

Solution 2

Volume of cube, V = (1 cm)3 = (10-2 m)3 10-6 m3.

Hence, answer is 10-6
