Verify whether the following zeroes of the polynomial, indicated against them.

p(x) = 5x – π, x = 4/5

Solution

If x = 4/5 is a zero of polynomial p(x) = 5x − π , then p(4/5) should be 0.

Here, p(4/5) = 5(4/5) - π = 4 - π

As p(4/5) ≠ 0,

Therefore, x = 4/5 is not a zero of the given polynomial.
