Ferrous ion and Ferric ion.

Ferrous ion and Ferric ion
(i) \[\ce{FeSO4 + 2NH4OH -> Fe(OH)2 v + (NH4)2SO4}\]
Fe(OH)2 forms dirty green precipitates.
(ii) \[\ce{Fe2(SO4)3 + 6NH4OH -> 2Fe(OH)3 v + 3(NH4)2SO4}\]
Fe(OH)3 forms reddish brown precipitates.
