Question

A card is drawn from a well shuffled pack of 52 cards. Find the probability that the card drawn is:

a red or a king

Solution

Number of possible outcomes when card  is drawn from pack of  52 cards=52

n(s)=52

E= event of drawing a   red oor a king =26 red cards(13h+13D)+2 black  kings[since 26 red cards contain 2  red  kings]

n(E)=28

Probability of drawing red or  a king `=(n(E))/(n(s))=28/52=7/13`
