A wheel of diameter 2 in can be rotated about an axis passing through its centre by a moment of force equal to 2e0 N m. What minimum force must be applied on its rim?

Solution

∴ Diameter = 2m
radius OP = l m
∴ ⊥ distance OP = 1 m
Moment of force = 2.0 N m

F × ⊥ distance OP = moment of force
F × 1 = 2.0
F = 2/1 = 2N
