Given
`[H^(+)] = 3.8 xx 10^(-3) M`
∴pH value of soft drink
`= -log[H^(+)]`
`= -log(3.8 xx 10^(-3))`
`= - log 3.8 - log 10^(-3)`
= - log 3.8 + 3
= -0.58 + 3
= 2.42
Solution 2
pH = – log [H+] = – log (3.8 x 10-3) = – log 3.8 + 3 = 3 – 0.5798 = 2.4202 = 2.42
