Suppose the acceleration due to gravity at a place is 10 m/s2. Find its value if cm/(minute)2.

Solution

Acceleration due to gravity, g = 10
\[m/ s^2\]
∴ g = 10 m/s2 = 10 × 100 cm
\[\times \frac{1}{\left( \frac{1}{60}\min \right)^2}\]
∴ g = 1000 × 3600 cm/min2 = 36 × 105 cm/min2
