A pipe which is open at both ends is 47 cm long and has an inner diameter 5 cm. If the speed of sound in air is 348 m/s, calculate the fundamental frequency of air column in that pipe.

#### Solution

`n=V/(2(l+2e))`

where e = 0.3d

for open end correction = 2e

=2x0.3d

e =0.6x5=3cm

`n=v/(2(0.47+0.03))=348/(2xx0.5)=348 Hz.`
