Solution

`"x" + 7 - "8x"/3 = "17x"/6 - "5x"/8`

`=> (3("x" + 7) - "8x")/3 = ("17x" xx 4 - "5x" xx 3)/24`

`=> (3"x" + 21 - 8"x")/3 = (68"x" - 15"x")/24`

`=> (-5"x" + 21)/3 = "53x"/24`

⇒ 3 × 53x = 24 (- 5x + 21)

⇒ 159x = -120x + 504

⇒ 159x + 120 x = 504

⇒ 279 x = 504

`=> "x" = 504/279 = 168/93 = 56/61`

`therefore "x" = 1 25/31`
