Solution

`x/2 - 1/5 = x/3 + 1/4`

L.C.M. of the denominators, 2, 3, 4, and 5, is 60.

Multiplying both sides by 60, we obtain

`60(x/2 - 1/5) = 60 (x/3 + 1/4)`

⇒ 30− 12 = 20+ 15 (Opening the brackets)

⇒ 30− 20x = 15 + 12

⇒ 10x = 27

⇒ `x = 27/10`
