Solution

(a3x + 5)2. (ax)4 = a8x + 12 

⇒ a6x + 10 + 4x = a8x + 12
If bases are the same, powers are also same
⇒ 10x + 10 = 8x + 12
⇒ 2x = 2
⇒ x = 1
