Solution

2x + y = 5                    .......(I)
3x - y = 5                     .......(II)
Adding I and II
5x = 10
⇒ x = 2
Putting the value of x in (I)
2 x 2 + y = 5
⇒ 4 + y = 5
⇒ y = 1
