# Solve the Following Equation Using the Formula X^2 - 6x = 27 - Mathematics

Sum

Solve the following equation using the formula

x^2 - 6x = 27

#### Solution

x^2 - 6x = 27

=> x^2 - 6x - 27 = 0

Here a= 1, b= -6 and c = -27

Then x = (-b +-  sqrt((-6)^2 - 4(1)(-27)))/(2(1))

= (6 -+ 12)/2 = (6 +12)/2 and (6 - 12)/2 = 9 and -3
