Solution

Reaction:
NaCl(s) + H2O(aq) -> Na+(aqueous) + Cl-(aqueous) + H2O(l)

Explanation:
When sodium chloride reacts with water the Na+ part of NaCl is attracted to the oxygen side of the water molecules, while the Cl- side is attracted toward the hydrogen's side of the water molecule.
