Classify industries on the basis of source of raw material. How are they different from each other?

Solution

On the basis of raw materials, industries can be classified into agro-based industries and mineral-based industries. Agro-based industries are different from mineral-based industries in the following ways:

Agro-based industries     Mineral-based industries
These industries use agricultural products
as raw materials such as cotton and jute.
These industries use minerals as raw
materials such as bauxite and iron ore.
The raw materials used by agro-based
industries are generally perishable.
The raw materials used by mineral-based
industries are generally non-perishable
