# For the reaction R → P, the concentration of a reactant changes from 0.03 M to 0.02 M in 25 minutes. Calculate the average rate of reaction using units of time both in minutes and seconds. - CBSE (Science) Class 12 - Chemistry

#### Question

For the reaction R → P, the concentration of a reactant changes from 0.03 M to 0.02 M in 25 minutes. Calculate the average rate of reaction using units of time both in minutes and seconds.

#### Solution

Average rate of reaction =  - (triangle[R])/(trianglet)

=-([R]_2 - [R]_1)/(t_2-t_1)

=-(0.02 - 0.03)/25 "M min"^(-1)

= - (-0.01)/25 "M min"^(-1)

= 4 xx 10^(-4) "M min"^(-1)

= (4xx10^(-4))/60 M s^(-1)

= 6.67 × 10−6 M s−1
