#### Question

Solve each of the following equations using the formula:

`3x^2 + 2x – 1 = 0`

#### Solution

`3x^2 + 2x – 1 = 0`

Here a = 3, b = 2 and c = −1

Then `x = (-b+-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2a)`

=`(-(2)+-sqrt((2)^2-4(3)(1)))/(2(3)`

=`(-2+-4)/6=(-2+-4)/6 and (-2-4)/6=1/3 and -1`
